Pull on one of our Explorer Rucksacks and prepare for an intrepid journey through Wakehurst. Jam-packed with creative activities and resources, our rucksacks are designed to help children make the most of their time in the gardens.

Nature Explorer (under 6s): Hands-on exploring in the gardens, collecting and searching for natural things.

Discovery Explorer (6–8): Become a wildlife detective and discover the world of minibeasts through investigation and art.

Expedition Explorer (8+): Go on an expedition with binoculars, learn to use a compass, and become an investigator, bird spotter and artist all in one!
Adults may need to lend a hand with some of the activities.
Make sure you pick up an Explorer Rucksack (£4.50 hire charge) from the Visitor Centre when you arrive.
With seasonal updates in January, April, July and October, be sure to come back for new adventures all throughout the year.
